In a state like AP where everyone from the chaprasi to chief secretary focusses 50-80% of his mind on his kids education/career, how can donakonda serve the government employees. He used to be a revenue employee in collector's office in Krishna District. Many of you may not know that Machilipatnam is the head quarters of Krishna district. when Rajiv Sharma (the current CS of Telangana) was the collector, his wife forced him to move the residence to camp office in Vijayawada so that their kids education is not comprimised. Machilipatnam is supposed to have better education facilities than most of the places in AP still this is the attitude of government employees. Now imagine the state of 20-30k government employees. Hyderabad:Four new suspension (metal cable) bridges on the river Krishna will be constructed to connect Krishna and Guntur districts. “No pillars like regular bridges will be erected and there will be no delay in construction of these bridges. We will use the latest technology to construct these bridges,” said a top state functionary said. “We will consider a few of the suggestions of the Sivaramakrishna Comm-ittee, but not everything. Some of the suggestions like developing Vizag IT hub and road connectivity are already on the agenda of the government. The CM is for administrative capital region near Vijayawada and not a capital-•••-destination centre like Hyderabad. Tirupati will be the student destination, the job destination will be Vizag. Industries destination will be Rayalaseema, Tourism destination will be Godavari, Araku and Tirupati,” he added. Mr Naidu has clarity on the new capital location and model and the Planning Department of AP has prepared a detailed project report on it. As claimed by the Sivar-amakrishna Committee, Hyderabad is a “honey pot” as it was both the administrative capital and was the destination for all the 23 districts for education, jobs, tourism, industries and other allied activities. But the capital region planned near Vijayawada will have only administrative buildings including CM’s office, Secretariat, Assembly, High Court, Commissionerates, Directorates and all state-level offices. Top educational institutions like IIT, IIM except AIIMS (as the capital needs a top medical facility) will be distributed. Vizag will be the IT hub and industries zone, Kakinada the hardware hub and Rayalaseema a destination of industries. We have land near Tadepalli of Guntur, Nuzivid, Gollapalli endowment land, Ganavaram, Milk factory area in Vijayawada.” | ||

Donakonda likely to be among choices Donakonda, the sleepy mandal headquarters in Prakasam district, in all likelihood, will figure in the list of choices for the State capital, to be submitted by the K.C. Sivaramakrishnan Committee with the panel members giving an indication to this effect during their visit to the district on Sunday. The committee members K.T.Ravindran and Aromar Revi, after visiting the aerodrome in disuse, railway station and Edlacheruvu in the mandal, expressed satisfaction over the presentation made by the district administration on the advantages of Donakonda, a place of conglomeration of Rayalaseema and Andhra cultures. District Collector G.S.R.K.R.Vijaykumar told media here on Monday that the committee was particular that the large chunk of vacant government lands in the district should be put to proper use.
