There has been a misconception in this country that H-1B nonimmigrants take away American worker jobs most and has been attacked by all means until now. Look at the truth from the following statistics: TN=612,535 L-1 Intracompany Transfers=503,206 H-1B=474,355 H-2A Temporary Agricultural Workers=204,577 H-2B Nonagricultural Temporary Workers=104,993 Another shocking truth. H-1B annual "regular" cap is 65,000. Out of this total 6,800 are taken out for H-1B1 Chile and Singapore, leading to annual regular cap of 58,200 in the lottery selection. GUESS WHAT! According to the FY 2013 statistics only 8 H-1B1 were admitted to the U.S. No, it is not a typo. Eight (8)! The USCIS has been picking up these unused H-1B1 numbers in the H-1B cap admissions in the following fiscal year, but it reveals a funny behavior in the legislation. What about H-1C foreign nurse admissions in nurse shortage areas? Only 7. Yes, it is seven (7) and not a typo. Can anyone imagine there are practically no nursing shortage areas in this country? This reveals a serious flaw with this legislation. Where are the legislators? |
