Their image as players and their image in their personal lives is different. Some players, especially from Australia, may come across as rude and arrogant on the field but off they might be nice persons to know. Steve Waugh was the perennial dour fighter but he has doing some nice work with underprivileged and girls in Kolkata through his foundation. We need to separate their onfield and offfield persona. | ||

Is there no end to how many lives this guy can touch and inspire. Even some of the comments made below by some English readers are moving: - Rahul Dravid really should be put in charge of everything, shouldn't he? Not just in cricket, but everything in the world. - From time to time, I wake up in a cold sweat, after a nightmare in which Rahul Dravid failed to be the most gracious, humble, thoughtful person in any situation he finds himself, and my faith in humanity is lost forever. Can't believe I have a hero for the first time at 49 years old, someone I would be genuinely tongue tied at meeting. Something like this story makes me feel justified.
