Longterm assets ki vasthe probably SU has better assets but CNQ has very flat management style and a big chunk is owned by a very shrewd guy. Suncor has some management issues and hopefully they get better with time. Buffet's $500 million range investment is not a big deal, just a tacit approval for oil sands I guess. In fact there are two other good names to consider in Canadian oil patch; IMO (XOM's subsidiary) and CVE. Also if you are looking at financial sector, Canadian banks are best managed in the world. few names to consider TD, RY, BNS | ||

I own MA long term calls; missed on V when it was around $55. I did my analysis and came up with buy recommendation on that few years ago and one of my friend discouraged me and I backed out. again, please do your DD and make your own decision. don't listen to anyone including me. I still do lot of mistakes. But I only play with certain budget and very conservative when it comes to money in the retirement plans | ||

I did only couple trades recently - QCOM calls in and out in 2 days. Completely forgot to follow X, denemma all time high ki vellindi. I made a double on my original calls when I exited but could have repeated the trade, it would have been a 3 banger. Well, hindsight is 20-20 | ||

PEG - good long term hold, buy on dips. I haven't looked into options off late. Only risk for any utility would be interest rates, these kind of stocks will suffer when rates start going up. SU and CNQ - I own both but I bought them long time ago, actually almost 10 years ago in case of CNQ. Between two, CNQ is better managed company in my view. SU has great assets and petro-canada merger kept this company afloat, otherwise it would have gone into trouble in 2008 meltdown. Both are highly correlated to crude prices and will have some difficulties until some new pipelines get approved. If you are looking for longterm investing I.e., 5 to 10 years view then no issues. I am super busy now a days and not able to spend much time on reading the materials and analysis. Will post here if I am taking any new positions. | ||
