he is not a private lawyer.. he is appearing on behalf of Amit shah in only one case. same lawyer appeared for 2G case also. manaku teleedenti ante almost all supreme court judges ki ilanti background ye untundi. Cant remember but there is a guy who also did a ministry before becoming a SC judge.. asalu cases appear avvakunda lawyers untara.. high profile cases lo law only matters.. not morals | ||

Morals ane vi very highly over rated in law profession. Anyway there is always the option of rescuing yourself from hearing a case if their is conflict of interest. Spend less time trying to be brilliant and more time trying to avoid obvious stupidity. | ||

Being a private lawyer is different from being a Supreme Court judge kadha...repu veedu SC Chief Justice ayithe idhe antara..the Collegium that selects the judges should also have a look at the kind of people this guys works for...dabbu isthe yedaina chese lawyer avasarama SC ki or lawyers who have an outstanding moral track record. | ||

New Delhi, July 11: A day after Narendra Modi's close aide Amit Shah was elected as BJP president, a report says that senior lawyer Uday U Lalit, who represented Shah in two high profile criminal cases, is all set to be elevated as a Supreme Court judge. According to a NDTV report, a Supreme Court panel led by the Chief Justice of India has recommended Lalit's name, along with three others. Lalit represented Amit Shah in cases involving the fake encounter killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati in Gujarat. Shah faces charges of murder and conspiracy in both cases. Once elevated, Lalit will be the sixth lawyer directly promoted to the top court as a judge. Amit Shah was the Gujarat home minister when Sohrabuddin was shot dead by the state police in 2005. The police falsely claimed he was a terrorist. Tulsiram Prajapati, a witness to the murder was also killed the next year. The controversy surrounding Gopal Subramanium's resignation is yet to settle. Now, Lalit's elevation might spark another row. He is also the special public prosecutor in the 2G spectrum scam case involving the gifting of out-of-turn mobile network licenses by the previous government to companies who allegedly paid big kickbacks. |
