You need to register for service tax only if your income crosses above 10 lakhs in a financial year (I registered only after crossing the limit). When they give you work, you give them a invoice. If you registered for service tax, you need to collect it from the company (or you may pay from your income ... depending on how you agreed). They do payment against your invoice. They will deduct 10% of the payment they are giving it to you. They send the information to govt (you can verify based on your pancard). You need to file pay service tax every quarter and file service tax returns every six months and income tax as usual. btw ... independent/consultant ga work cheyalante paper company open cheyalsina avasaram ledu. Just register yourself for service tax for IT work and keep collecting/paying/filing service tax. Open company only if other party does not give work to individuals. | ||
