Apple TV2 jailbroken with XBMC, navi x, mash up.....and trailers app connected with PlexConnect on my NAS.... The only downside is 780p, in place of 1080..... If Apple TV can't be jail broken to xbmc, put it in bin and buy a box that is xbmc installable.... Chromecast is over rated, if you have iPhones and iPads at home. Probably it may be good for android users.... In regards to speakers, I have got JBL flip blue tooth portable speaker, which I use for desktop and also portable when I am out on trips. apple tv is good to use netflix and itunes and youtube. Yesterday I tried willowtv, HD video streaming...awesome...fyi, if you take willow as part of dish or directv, transmission is not always in hd.. netflix, willowtv using itunes subscriptions...buy itunes gift cards when they are on sale. sometimes itunes cards will be on sale 20% or 25% off I Love Movies.... | ||

To me, apple tv is good. I tried both roku and apple tv.. - picture quality is too good with apple tv compared to roku. For some reason, netflix streamed through roku was dull whereas the same title through appletv was vibrant.. - many of the free channels on roku (atleast in my case!), we hardly watch them! You spent most of the time with youtube and netflix. appletv added many channels lately - even willow! Having said that, yes. google box may score bit higher than apple tv because it has inbuilt browser. | ||
