With change of government at Centre, naturally swift changes are expected on various things. If reports to be believed, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad will be renamed shortly as NTR International Airport. Since TDP's leader Ashok Gajapathi Raju is now that Union Civil Aviation Minister, these reports have got some base. Buzz is that Chandra Babu is keen on replacing this name as Rajiv has done nothing for the state unlike NTR who abolished Patel-Patwari system and instrumental in the growth of Telangana. Although, it's too early to say, it'd be good to see Shamshabad Airport named after Telugu legend NTR as he has done remarkable things for Telugus (Telangana, Seemandhra people). Rather than naming it as Rajiv Gandhi, who is not related to Telugus by any way and in fact belittled Telugus by insulting former CM like Anjaiaha, it's high time Rajiv's name should be replaced without a second thought. What say folks? http://gulte.com/news/27402/NTRs-name-for-Shamshabad-Airport |
