civic sense is not a set of rules, its a an understanding. people raise eye brows when a teen runs around in two piece bikin in apartments.. but its her freedom. we complain when a toddler runs naked.. both cases toy with "civic sense", depending on what we think of civic as. its not a normal thing to do, but definetly not an outrageous thing to do. it involves a kid, and its a safety issue, aaa angle thappa, i wouldnt care. paruvu, name, ittantivi light. btw, ikkada kooda common, may be not in cities. | ||

In other words, colonial mentality is prominent among Indians in USA. Some things should not be done anywhere, like peeing in public. But what is wrong with wearing ethnic clothes? The wrong thing is when younger generation things Indian culture is all about Bollywood and dressing in sarees. But they don't learn their own language or understand an ancient religion like Hinduism. Note, the Telugu people going to USA today are not born with silver spoon people like Nagarjuna or Venkatesh in the 80s. They are from economically backward societies(regardless of caste) and have a typical mindset that will change in the decades to come. | ||
