much has been written when the media was relatively independent. the rot started during rajiv time and the nexus between the delhi elite and media was complete during UPA 2. there's a reason timesnow is in bombay and so a little diff. hence a shakedown needed. the issue is with the nouveau rich middle class which consumes info in sound bytes and 140 chars; is too lazy and stupid to learn about their own history. ofcourse the bigger reason is the left domination of indian text books which has trivialized the complex history of the country. Awesome article. Though I didn't get 20-50% of it  What I really liked is his father's words which is basically the tone of the article:- Its masses vs elites.
