Different countries different needs.. countries like US provide heavy subsidies to farmers.. may be thats because of the culture like getting educated on ur own or the affordbility in education is much lesser compared to farming. Wrong argument...which country provides free higher education...no other country in the world has this warped system where our spending on higher education subsidies are much more than what we spend on primary schooling (K-12). In fact one of Namo's agenda items should be to transform the education system in India, adopt countries like US or UK or Sweden as an example. Abolish all higher education subsidies or at best give loans or scholarships.. Your argument a lot of people do not work in their field of education is also not valid. That is a different debate. You can't say that because that is prevalent, i will add fuel to the fire and create more of the same. In fact, push these guys into some ITI or some vocational training like carpentry, construction etc...they will earn much more money..in fact that is what they in Switzerland and Germany..at the age of 12 itself they separate the kids into two streams - those who are eligible to get into university etc and those who are pushed into some vocation...in fact the success of German engineering is supposed to be built on the foundation of these strong vocational labour force.

There are many countries in the world that offer free education. Its an investment of the govts for the next generations. and do u have any logic behind that every one who educated thru fee reimbursement is only getting data entry operator job? For that matter.. even a job as a data entry operator will still earn a livelyhood for his family. its all together a different problem and not related to fee reimbursement. We Indians have a herd mentality and never pursue an education or a career of one's interest. If u want blame somebody for the mushrooming of engg college, it comes back to TDP.. In India 90% of ppl works in less than 10% of fields.. look at the ppl around urself.. how many of them are mathematicians.. how many are into marine engineering.. how many into archeology.. or a manaku bank jobs.. software.. pharma... teacher.. I come across many guys who did chemical, mechanical engg coming into software.. our soceity never allows ppl getting into diversified fields due to peer pressure.. A guy who is getting 2L rank might have his interest some where else.. but there is no choice for him to study the course of his interest. a) because of lack of colleges.. b) lack of career in that.. They should implement it correctly however - give it to truly marginal farmers, set some minimum household income, family status etc before giving waiver.
Seriously!! Do you have some logic behind your statement or data. Spending 4500 cr a year so that a guy who gets 200000 rank in EAMCET can study engineering in a third rate engg college, how is that a productive use of money. We have just created a generation of unemployable graduates..all this benefits is the politician backed engg. colleges who get free money from the govt. I am not sure if the TDP manifesto has this but even it has it should be implemented strictly and slowly watered down. | ||

Even myself a son of a farmer, I am against to the idea. A loan that is taken is meant to be repaid. ila regular ga waive off cheste it starts a bad culture.. already aindi.. I don't have the exact numbers behind this. I did a rough back of the envelope calculation. The farm loan waiver in 2009 by the UPA was around 60000 crores. The total no. of cultivators in India as per the Census 2011 was 8.54 crores. In AP the total no. of cultivators was 52 lakhs. So that is around 6% of the total. If we assume that the loans waiver will be in equal proportion as the 2009 waiver, the amount will come to around 3600 crores. And if you add some inflation it will come to 4000 crores.
