Election time, most of my friends are posting their suggestions/recommendations and some posting their frustrations. I felt like sharing my experience with CBN. I was in 12th grade, I am one of the six crore people of AP felt like TDP is the hope for the state. Yanamala Rama Krishnudu (YRK) was the candidate for our constituency who is in mid twenties. I helped him as much as I could with his campaign to win the election. Later we became good friends and he always used to call me whenever he visit USA. YRK invited me to NY when CBN visited NY for World Earth Summit in 2002, I spent 4 days with CBN, YRK (Finance Minister), K.Vidhyadhar Rao (Heavy Industries Minister) and Ch Rama Mohan Rao (MP) at Radisson, Manhattan, NY. That was the first time I was watching closely a CEO of a state how he operates. CBN's day used to start at 4am and used to end at least at 11pm in a country like America. In addition to world earth summit CBN started encouraging MNC’s to invest in India and if any body comes with a good business plan he used to sign a letter of intent/memorandum of understandings. Every minute was so important to him, his meetings used to be very short and also sweet. In this process I saw TAPANA in his behavior to do something for the state in every meeting. In addition to this, few other things impressed me so much. 1) CBN’s limousine got struck in Manhattan traffic and CBN was running late for the dinner he is hosting and we were told there would be a surprise guest. CBN didn't wait even for two minutes for his limousine and started walking in Manhattan streets to reach Marriott hotel, which is few blocks away. We all followed him. The surprise guest at the dinner is Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton. Through out the dinnertime Bill Clinton appreciated CBN for all that he is doing for AP. It was an awesome speech from a world’s most powerful/popular leader. 2) One of those days, Lokesh came to meet his dad. I believe he is doing his MBA at Stanford during that period. He waited for few hours to meet his dad who is already in a meeting like any other visitor. I thought CBN may cancel all his meetings and spend time with his son like we watch in movies. After the meeting he invited Lokesh to his room and he spent only 10 minutes. Again back to work. I was impressed with his dedication. 3) Indian ambassador hosted a dinner for CBN the very next day. Yashwanth Sinha, Union Finance Minster, Infosis Narayana Murthy, GVK are some of the invitees. People started talking. I still remember Yashwanth Sinha’s speech, he started praising CBN for his 20-20 vision. It’s another remarkable experience when anther person from different party praising CBN. After that one evening GVK hosted a dinner in Long Island and another evening Telugu Association hosted it in NJ. Madhu Yashki Gowd used to arrange food for us from his Masala restaurant during those days. 5th day CBN flew to Ireland to invite more bio tech companies to AP. FB lo one my friend   |
