If you have a 5 year horizon, any of the big E&P companies like xom, BP, shell, statoil etc will do alright; am talking about common stock here. If you are playing options then it is bit tricky with timing. Whoever bought shell calls last year got almost an 8 bagger. My boss bought them, I missed it. With regards to RIG I only know the name that too because of BP spill in GOM. Otherwise no idea. Generally speaking drillers and servicing companies tend to do well in tandem with E&Ps. |

Thx annai.... this exxon is reporting... DVN/BP/XOM/HAL/CVX are performing superbly....with they all at 52 week highs...going into summer...r they good ones to add? RIG is the only one at bargain...Idi konochaa? |

I played XLP $42 march calls early this year for a small profit and haven't followed since then. Probably still okay. XLU is utilities index and I have picked PEG in that sector. Again you may do okay with XLU in the long run. If you are asking about calls on XLU, I will have to look into bit more details and pick the right strike and duration. I will look into it when I get some time. |
