I had setup wireless repeater several years ago and I don't have it anymore. I remember keeping the channels different but same ssid. Try "auto" for channels then change if need be.

Give the secondary router the same SSID as primary. The suggestion is to give different channels (on Wireless -> Basic Settings page) to avoid collision.

Same SSID repeat avvudhi and it will work only with 2.4 Ghz

I used my old linksys E2000 router to set it up as a repeater. Changed the firmware to DD-WRT and followed the below instructions:

However, ee instructions Step 6 lo:

Add
Wireless Network Name(SSID) : Different from Primary Router
[NOTE] - You CAN try using the same SSID but it usually will not work properly. Many have had random disconnects and/or no connection if the SSID's are the same.
Wireless SSID Broadcast : Enable
AP Isolation : Disable
Network Configuration : Bridged
Save


ani undhi...I thought we had to set same SSIDs to both physical and virtual.
However, i went ahead with the instructions and now can access the new "SSID" from the other room (where primary SSID wouldn't be available).

ee rendu same lekapothey (same ayina kooda) intlo unna anni devices connect avuthaaya? like accessing the wireless printer from a device using repeater's SSID?
