JC brothers’ sons abscond as court issues NBW against them

Anantapur: Anantapur MP candidate J.C. Diwakar Reddy’s son J.C. Pavan Kumar Reddy and Tadipatri MLA candidate J.C. Prabhakar Reddy’s son J.C. Asmith Reddy of the Telugu Desam have been absconding since Thursday after a non-bailable warrant was issued against them in connection with the attack on former TD youth district president K. Murali at Tadipatri.

A group of Congress workers had attacked Mr Murali’s residence during the 2009 elections. They allegedly set the TD leader’s house on fire in the incident.

Police registered cases against Mr Asmith Reddy and Mr Pavan Kumar Reddy in the case. Both of them had allegedly succeeded in removing their names from the FIR. The victim had approached the High Court against the removal of the names of the two young leaders in the case.

Sources said, the High Court directed the local court to add the names of the duo in connection with the case but the two did not attend court following which the Junior Civil Judge court of Tadipatri issued a non-bailable warrant against the two young leaders on Monday. Since then, both have been absconding.

Sources said that they have also applied for anticipatory bail.
