Vizag lo Industries pay chese tax (except for the local Muncipality tax), where is it accounted? It is accounted in Hyderabad and Delhi as they are the capital of the state and the union respectively. So the revenue under the Corporate Tax depts of Hyd are bloated - because the entire administrative set up of all the 23 dists is in Hyd. Same with govt depts. have you read the Revenue sharing agreement. it is in force with equal benefits for 5 years and from 6th year tilts towards Telangana. Anni positive points chebuthunnav about the coast line...entreprenueral nature etc etc - So what is the problem? Do not compare Andhra with Chattisgarh (which incidentally is in a better position after it became a new state) - Andhra has fertile land, sea coast with well established ports and a few major ones on the anvil - it already has a world class city with an International airport....it has gas reserves whcih so far have not benefitted the state.... So now - Instead of focussing on Hyd, our MLAs and MPs need to focus on THIER / OUR constituencies. | ||

:-) Any global city to survive and grow further needs people from all over to come and live there.....It needs to have a cosmopolitan outlook and the real locals there know this. And Telangana people WERE and ARE NEVER against the normal Coastal people. Their ire was towards Lagadapati, Kavuri, Navayuga etc etc....as these crony capitalists were sucking the blood of the state through the Out-sourcing system.... Things like making fun of accent etc, abnormal behaviour etc should not be taken seriously and in the long run , they will only be isolated incidents. The problem was because of the centralized development model...where along with encouraging Private capital in one single city, the state government office branches from the Dist HQs were also shifted to Hyd in the early 2000s. And once this happened (for the purpose of Real Estate),there was a severe imbalance and hence we feel cheated etc etc. | ||

If that was the case (reason for division), then why did all parties want the division? Why did BJP in 1998 want 2 states? Why did TDP and YSRCP demand division? I have been asking this to you for the last 6 months :-) Emotional reasons kaakunda...tell me one ECONOMIC reason where Coastal Andhra has lost out due to new state formation. Govt employment will increase because of the adjustment. Especially POlice force lo there will be a good amount of recruitment as two police forces will be required and the elite units cannot be split now. Same with other state govt departments. Dist re-org is a must....The present 13 dists should be reorganized into 20+ dists. For eg.. Vizag city should be one dist - the rest of vizag should be another dist - the problems of Vizag city are very different from the rest of the dist.....so one collector and his staff cannot look at such a vast plethora of issues....So dist re-org is a must. | ||

VJA - You need to realize one thing.....Because of the new state formation - Seema andhra will have surplus electricity....Right now T areas have deficiency and because this is one state - the overall state is deficient. We have the largest coast in the country and thee is already one major port which is India's second largest in erms of cargo handling. 3 more mid size are in operation and one more large port has been sanctioned. And these ports will automatically mean better land transportation i.e. more rail network in the coastal areas. We should be thankful that the concentration on Hyderabad is gone and we now have a chance to build our own cities....and adopt a decentralized model. And Adnhra has one of the most fertile delta regions in the country. | ||

What have you lost? 10 years the students can be locals in the Education Institutes of Hyderabad. For 10 years you have it ac common capital. meanwhile the package will be implemented irrespective of the govts since it has been passed by the LS and RS..... Cities like vizag, kakinada and Tpt will get their due. Polavaram project will start - that itself is a big boob to the coastal dists from vizag - Guntur. Dist re-org is a must and can be done now. And itf you think emotionally - telugu is now the official language of 2 states - the only language other than Hindi that is the official language of more than one state | ||
