హైదరాబాద్/గుంటూరు: గుంటూరు జిల్లా చుండూరులో దళితుల ఊచకోత కేసులో రాష్ట్ర అత్యున్నత న్యాయస్థానం హైకోర్టు మంగళవారం సంచలన తీర్పు ఇచ్చింది. 1991లో చుండూరు ఊచకోత కేసులో నిందితులకు దిగువ కోర్టు విధించిన శిక్షను హైకోర్టు రద్దు చేసింది. గుంటూరు జిల్లా చుండూరులో 1991లో దళితుల ఊచకోత జరిగింది. ఈ కేసుకు సంబంధించి దిగువ కోర్టు 21 మందికి జీవిత ఖైదు, 35 మందికి ఏడాది జైలు శిక్ష విధించింది. దీనిపై వారు హైకోర్టును ఆశ్రయించారు. కేసును విచారించిన హైకోర్టు... దిగువ కోర్టు విధించిన నిందితుల శిక్షను రద్దు చేసింది. శిక్షను రద్దు చేసినందున.. చుండూరులో శాంతిభద్రతలకు భంగం వాటిల్లకుండా మూడు నెలల పాటు పోలీసులు పర్యవేక్షించాలని సూచించారు. అలాగే శిక్ష రద్దు నేపథ్యంలో ఎలాంటి సంబరాలు చేసుకోకుండా చూడాలని జిల్లా ఎస్పీని ఆదేశించింది. కాగా, చుండూరు దళితుల ఊచకోత కేసు 1991లో జరిగింది. ఈ కేసులో 56 మంది దోషులుగా దిగువ కోర్టు నిర్ధారించింది. 56 మందిలో 21 మందికి జీవిత ఖైదు, 35 మందికి ఏడాది జైలు శిక్ష విధించారు. మరోవైపు.. చుండూరు ఊచకోత సంఘటంపై తాము సుప్రీం కోర్టుకు వెళ్తామని, నిందితులకు శిక్ష పడేదాకా పోరాడుతామని పద్మారావు అన్నారు.
