Reinvestment helps for Indians to avoid tax. Is it applicable to NRI also?

Here the case belongs to NRI.

Chillarodu:

Is this true?

Let's say
1. I bought a property for 10 lakhs
2. I sold this property for 20 lakhs.
Technically I have to pay tax for 10 lakhs

But as you said, if I invest that 20 lakhs in buying another property.
after 1 year I sell that property for 21 lakhs

Then if I wanted to get that money back, do I only need to pay tax on my 1 lakh profit? What happens to my previous profit?

You have to pay on 11 lahs and not 1 lakh.

Guys, anybody has experience of selling property in Hyderabad as NRI? Is it true that we need to pay income tax of 20%?
