In early 1980’s – In my village, we had a head in the village. We used to call him chowdary garu. During Telugu Desam inception, the leader joined all our backward class people into TDP. He told us NTR will help all the BCs. NTR will give food and education. We believe, we voted. We got rice to eat and we got education. In 1990’s – There are two classes in the village. One who recently got education and the other is chowdary gari clan. Chowday gaaru asked us to vote for TDP again. We did because of the goodwill as we got Rice, and education. In 2000 – Chowdary garu asked us to vote for TDP. Half of the nackward people voted. Some didn’t vote. Chowdary gaaru asked us why? We said, we can’t pay the hiked bills for the rice, electricity. So, we chose Reddy gaaru. In 2009 – Chwodary gaaru again asked us to vote for Telugu Desam. None of the backward classes or poor people voted for TDP. Chowdary gaaru asked the reason? We said, we have cheap rice, cheap electricity, cheap education, and free medical treatment. On top of it, our land prices went up. We are rich with the land we have. But, we still get free stuff. In 2014 – Chowdary is asking us to vote for TDP. This time we asked him why? He said, he doesn’t have an answer. We asked him to tell one good reason to vote for TDP. He came back to use and said that the other party ate 1000 crores and they gave you 500 crores free stuff. One of the educated person from our backward class said – That is ok. But, your party will eat all the 1500 crores and will not give anything to us. I couldn’t laugh watching Chowdary’s face. This is my village.. We have too many engineers, some went to US in the last few years, they made money and spend some for the village. Our lands value more, we are richer. We don’t need to listen to Chowdary gaaru now. We have brains. |
