Pawanism:

I believe your bank won't generate 1099-SA and they might be not aware of it.

Bank should be aware of the type of authorizations from VISA, as only allowed transactions are authorized. There is no way for bank to say that they are not aware of our medical transactions

I have been doing this for last 4 years without any questions
Distrinutions means not that medical expenses you paid using card

Out of 5000, last yeat i have used 2000+ as medical exp
did not show that amount as distribution

You should call your Bank about that. You should receive 1099-SA if you pay the medical bills using your HSA card. I believe your bank won't generate 1099-SA and they might be not aware of it.

These distridutions cannot be taxable as the person used for valid expenses
they are 100% non-taxable

Yes, That is correct. Distributions are not taxable unless if they are used for personal expenses other than Medical.

It looks like you went to hospital and paid(distribution) $2000.00 using HSA card for medical expenses. You won't get 1099-SA if you don;t spend that amount. Cross check your account and call the Bank or Credit union which is holding your HSA account about the $2000.00 distribution amount.

Manthri:

if all your distributions money is used for qualified medical expenses, then its not taxable.
Whatever is not used, then its taxable.

right this is what taxact says..but what I thought in the beginning when I signed was that...when all money was not used up..the remaining would be rolled over and I can use it for qualified med expenses next year. not sure why it says distributed....it is not like they cut me a check

taxact asks:

if all your distributions money is used for qualified medical expenses, then its not taxable.
Whatever is not used, then its taxable.

Please go through each screen carefully.

I see. Is this the case even when you get a 1099SA, which has 2000 as gross distribution?

Taxact is adding to tax for this amount in my case.

Last year ma company lo HSA start chesaru.

For e.g, calender year lo 5K USD HSA account lo vesthe, if we used 3K, migilina 2K ki tas kattala? It came distribution in 1099SA

I thought that 2000 will go to next year and we can use for medical expenses following year.
