New York (CNN) -- An apparent dispute over housing ended with an 86-year-old New York man shooting his grandson and killing his grandson's girlfriend before fatally shooting himself, a law enforcement source said Saturday.

Police were still trying to sort out what led Heriberto Pagan to drive from his home in Brooklyn to his daughter's Staten Island house Friday and shoot two people before taking his own life

Pete_sampras:

#3 is incorrect. A medallion and a license are two different things in the taxi industry. A MEDALLION is auctioned off(there is a limited number of them) and they have sold for as much as a million, but generally range around the $800k area. One medallion allows one taxi cab to be on the street. And there can be many operators of a single taxi cab. To OPPERATE a taxi, you need what I have which is a hack license. With taking the course, paying fees and whatnot it cost roughly $500 when all was said and done. Not a million.
