Giving a clarion call to support its fight for equality and empowerment of the marginalised sections, the Indian Christian Secular Party (ICSP) national president K. Uday Kumar has said that time has come for Christians to become a force to reckon with. Launching the ICSP at Gunta Grounds here on Saturday, Mr. Uday Kumar said that Dalits, Dalit Christians had been subjected to oppression and discrimination by the upper castes for decades and the party was formed with an objective of bringing the oppressed sections, minorities and the marginalised on a common platform. Party national secretary Paul Devapriyam Pulla said that the Christians had pioneered in health, education and rural employment 200 years back, but the community has no representation in the political arena. The ICSP is born out of anguish and despair of millions of downtrodden people in the country,â he said. Dalit ideologue Kancha Ilaiah took pot shots at Chandrababu Naidu and said that the latter was coming closer to the BJP, a communal party, to wrest power. He further warned that communal forces would unleash a reign of terror in coastal areas if the BJP came to the power. ||Vote for LSP|| ||JP|| |
