The Telangana Rashtra Samiti and the YSR Congress Party are the two biggest gainers from the granting of statehood to Telangana, as per latest Neilson survey. The results indicate a continued swell in the stature of the regional parties in the state that gave the Congress party its biggest state contingent of Parliamentarians in 2004 as well as in 2009. Surveys are being conducted to gauge the overall mood of the voters both in Telangana and Seemandhra. According to a latest survey by Neilson ORG, here are some of the pointers that political parties must watch out for: TRS is likely to get 55 to 60 seats in Telangana. Out of the 119 seats in Telangana, Congress is expected to get 40-45 seats, TDP is likely to get between 7 to 8 seats and BJP another 8 seats. MIM is hoping to retains its 7 seats. However, Jagan’s party is unlikey to get any seats despite having some vote share, says the survey. Coming to Seemandhra, YSRCP is likely to get 130 to 134 seats out of 175 Assembly seats and TDP is expected to get between 35 and 45 seats. As for Congress, it is being said that it would be difficult for it to get at least a few seats in the Assembly segment. Coming to the Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, TRS is expected to get 10-12 seats, Congress might be getting 4-6 seats. BJP could be getting 1-2 seats. MIM will retain its one seat, the survey says. YSRCP is likely to lead in Seemandhra by getting 18 to 22 MP seats. TDP is expected to get 6-8 seats according to the survey. |
