HYDERABAD: The YSR Congress is all set to field former IAS officer V Chandramouli against TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu at Kuppam Assembly segment in Chittoor district. Chandramouli, a 1990 batch IAS officer from the state, superannuated in 2013 and was appointed director general of the Centre for Development Studies (CDS) which is part of the Andhra Pradesh Academy of Rural Development. After getting the green signal from YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy, Chandramouli quit as CDS director general last week. The decision to field an IAS officer from Kuppam is seen as an attempt by Jagan to storm Naidu's bastion in the 2014 election. Earlier, the YSR Congress chief had launched his 'Samaikya Sankharavam' programme from Kuppam in February this year which attracted huge crowds. But at best, Chandramouli can attempt to put up a good fight against Naidu.
