I have started doing some research on how NEST works and i feel it has pretty good capability and in the long run will definetly be a winner. cost wise, since this is a system you wont or expected to not change often cost savings are good over time, especially if you consider that half of your home energy consumption is from HVAC. NEST as i read has multiple sensors. three sensors for temperature readings, apparently provides more accurate temperature than the tradition one sensor system. not sure whether it is for real or just a marketing gimmick. one sensor for humidity . motion and light sensor - at around 150 degree angle to check for presence. wifi - connection to get temperature and humidity settings outside your home it reads and records data over time to learn the surroundings and creates a schedule based on algorithms that determine the best way to save energy. it also creates an away schedule to minimizes energy consumption, when no one is home and based on outside temeprature changes. it can also run a manual mode, and i which case indicates what temperature settings are energy efficient for the home. automatic software downloads and upgrade untaayi. it supposts most major HVACs. the world of appearances may or may not be real, or both may and may not be real - or may be indescribable; or may be real and indescribable, or unreal and indescribable; or in the end may be read and unreal and indescribable - its all Syadvada | ||

if it home control systems work through public cloud, definetly people will opt for other products which offer a different model. i doubt if google will do that. between, there will be definetly certain systems that will be tied to major online sellers. TVs will be the first ani naa feeling. pretty soon we might be ordering something on amazon on your tv ani naa yokka idhi.. and them amazon prime can shower ads based on what you watch. something like, if your tv plays a lot of cartoons, or baby einstein, baby product ads targetting sesthaayi ani naa peeling. evi levu vunkl.. they tried different things, but not able to gather enough traction for them to sustain prolonged maintenance. i actually dont think they want to be someone who creates products, their focus was in providing platforms, and making a buck on them. by that i mean, their focus is not on creating a phone product, but a platform on which phones work. same with cloud based platforms they have been working. In communications, they are trying to break barriers and get rid of products of other companies by making their platform an open source one with webrtc. their approach of making money, while not making products is killing many traditional product oriented businesses, ofcourse Apple and Samsung are succeeding in a product based model. but i think google might be changing their model with robotic investments they have been making. ala google glass and other automated systems they are working on.
