Kiran May Backtrack On Quitting? Even as some Seemandhra ministers and MLAs close to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy are claiming that he would resign from his post to float a new party, there are rumours in the media that he might not actually quit, but may prefer to cling to his post. Kiran, who was expected to resign from the post soon after the commencement of debate on Telangana bill in Lok Sabha on Tuesday afternoon, did not do so. In fact, as the debate was going on, the Chief Minister remained in the camp office and switched off his mobile phone. He also denied permission to visitors to meet him. Mobile phones of personal staff of Kiran were also switched off. The CM and his aides were communicating through land lines. Sources said the Chief Minister would convene a media conference on Wednesday at 10 am and announce his decision to step down. But there were also reports that he is now backtracking on his resignation on the ground that there was no use in quitting now after the bifurcation. Instead, he might move the Supreme Court over the manner in which the bill was passed.
