best comment i've read so far regarding price movement. Exactly echoes my concerns. "Because a herd mentality pervades the market, whatever the herd decides to do, however nutty or illogical, will determine the direction of stock, up or down. With respect to Twitter and Facebook I view them as goofy due to the mentality and investor sentiment that surrounds them. One of the most basic metrics applied to whether a stock is a sensible investment is its P/E or price earnings ratio. There are many other metrics and ways to value a stock but its P/E is as commonly used as any. Twitter has no earnings so its P/E is zero ( or can be negative - losing money ). Why its trading in the 60's is completely nutty. Twitter is a classic example of smoke and mirrors wrapped in a mirage. Nothing about it makes sense. But the herd doesn't have to make sense. If enough people think it should be $1000/share then that's where it will trade. As for Facebook, much of its value is derived from the very large subscriber base. Because of that, its assumed that immense revenues are likely to follow. Again, nuttiness is at work. I'm on Facebook and my daily activity is far greater than I ever thought it would be, But I pay zero attention to the ads. None of those ads will influence my buying habits. Finally, if you apply the old tried and true P/E to Facebook, this is roughly a $10 stock but this stock will never adhere to logic. It will, for the foreseeable future, by driven by the herd's nutty proclivity and trade far away from reason. In short, the herd determines where a stock is going, whether it makes sense or not. TTM: feeling good. heavily undervalued. Such a great business with a serious moat thanks to JLR. It is a good time to buy . migathavi cannot talk with confidence. if you still can, look into MT.
