I read somewhere that ilayaraja used only four instruments or five for the score.... Also wolf will have a specific BGM and once lamb turns wolf, wolf BGM is transferred or assigned to him .... The theme of using BGM is classic. I have rematches the movie only for BGM observation. Watch Soodhu kavvum...that's better product....pulp fiction of Tamil cinema Always be yourself. Because an original is worth more than a copy. | ||

Onayum Aattukuttiyum - Mysskin movie. I am still dazed. Haven't seen a better thriller than this in ages. Only Tamil industry can churn out movies like this. And it is purely because there is a sizable audience for such movies there. Unless there are people who like such stuff, there won't be such movies. Onaayum Aattikuttiyum (The Wolf and the Lamb) is the finest movie I have seen in a while. It is not for the faint hearted or for those who equate entertainment with a couple of comedy scenes and a bunch of songs. It is song-less, humor-less and relentless. It is like a bullet train racing ahead all the time. Only in the last leg of its journey it stops for a moment, introspects and then gently moves along. It is during this leg that you stare at the screen wide-eyed, desperately holding back your eyes from becoming moist and root silently but strongly for an acceptable positive end. It moves you to shreds. It kills you silently. And you forget it is a movie. You can't shake yourself off the trance it creates. The end leaves you empty... flabberghasted and once the feeling sinks in and you realize all is not lost - you start smiling and can't stop those smiles. It is Ecstasy! without any of the bad effects. It gets you high with no side-effects. It is a brilliant cinematic experience. We don't get to partake in such journeys normally. Don't miss it. And when the Onaayi starts telling a story to a little girl, brace yourself for a unparallelled intellectual assault on your mind. If you are not prepared, you lose a frigging sense of yourself. And for that scene and that scene alone, Mysskin has earned a life long fan. I am not sure if this movie is a commercial success in Tamil Nadu. I don't simply care. The very fact that such a movie exists in that industry makes me ecstatic. If you don't know Tamil, wait for a remake. Don't watch with subtitles. It will kill the movie for you.
