AAP doing nothing on Sheila corruption allegations: Binny CNN-IBN | 27-Jan-2014 10:35 AM New Delhi: Expelled from the Aam Aadmi Party, MLA Vinod Kumar Binny came out strongly against the party reiterating that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has failed to fulfill any of his promises. He said he will meet the Delhi Lieutenant Governor regarding issues not addressed by the AAP government in Delhi. "AAP is doing nothing to resolve the corruption allegations against the previous Sheila Dikshit government. They had promised permanent jobs to teachers and ITI workers, but nothing is being done for them. I will meet the L-G today regarding that issue," Binny said. He also claimed that he was not informed by the party that he had been expelled. "I was also never informed about being expelled from AAP. I learned about it from the media," Binny said. Binny has threatened a dharna against Kejriwal on Monday. Binny will protest against Kejriwal at Jantar Mantar. "It's very unfortunate that a party can expel their MLA when he brings to attention the worries of the people. AAP is trying to force the government to fall so they can escape the promises they made. But I will continue to vote on important topics and on what the people need. I will meet all of you on Monday at the Jantar Mantar protest," Binny said after being expelled from the AAP. After the open rebellion by Binny, the AAP finally expelled him on Sunday evening and announced the decision in a press release. The AAP statement said a disciplinary panel had decided to expel Binny for making false statements against the party and its leadership. The party has been claiming that Binny voiced his criticism against Kejriwal and others simply because he was not given a cabinet berth. The AAP is now left with only 27 MLAs in the Delhi Assembly. "Binny is being expelled for his anti- party stand. If he apologises, we can reconsider our decision," said AAP leader Ilyas Azmi. Binny has been critical about the AAP's style of functioning ever since the party came to power in the national capital. He had alleged that the debutant party led by Arvind Kejriwal was deviating from its poll promises. "I have asked Kejriwal that assurances given to the people of Delhi should be fulfilled. He should let me know by January 26 and if I am not satisfied, I will sit on an indefinite fast from January 27," Binny said. He had even gone to the extent of calling Kejriwal a "liar". Following his public outrage, the party had issued a showcause notice to Binny for "tarnishing" its image. The disgruntled former AAP MLA had also raised the issue with anti- graft activist Anna Hazare at Ralegan Siddhi. Binny, who had also called Kejriwal a "dictator" and had accused his government of cheating people, however, had maintained that he would not join any other political party, including the BJP and Congress. "I will stay in AAP and talk about party's policies and points. If AAP sacks me, I will still demand implementation of its policies," he said. | ||

delhi is under control of central is not the case of overtaking power from delhi in gov. You should need think more broad way.Delhi is the capital of India. ok makes sense... but I would still like to see larger sample for poll. In any case, even if delhi police does not come under delhi govt, it is better for AAP as due to this dharna they have clearly established to the common man as to who is accountable.. henceforth if any rape or law and order problem recurs, people know where to divert their anger. | ||

The central point of the dharna was accountability of the police - and that is what people are seeing it as , so most people do support the dharna... Control of police to state govt was provided as a solution to the lack of accountability of police to the state... Downside is it gives a state govt. itself some immunity to being apprehended and that's what people do not like either.. A certain separation helps checks and balances but when state govt. is pitted against central govt. it also makes it a power game like Shinde is indulging in now by revoking posting of of the ACB chief that protocol says should be per the CM's recommendations..
