Mohammed Nazeer Ahmed Bhatt alias Nazeer Inqelabi, a Pakistani national and an alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba operative who was arrested by the sleuths of Special Investigation Team (SIT) ran four Unani dispensaries in Hyderabad and Cyberabad and was even arrested on charges of being a quack. Bhatt was arrested and handed over to the Gujarat police by the Border Security Force (BSF) three months ago at Wankenker area of Gujarat while reportedly crossing over to Pakistan. The Hyderabad city police who were also on the lookout for Bhatt brought him to the city on Prisoner's Transfer (PT) warrant. On 23 December, the SIT sleuths registered fresh cases against him and took him into custody. Bhatt had fraudulently obtained documents including voter ID card, Aadhaar card and driving licence during his seven-year-long stay in India, sources said. During interrogation Bhatt reportedly confessed to SIT sleuths that in 2005 he had imparted training in the Muzaffarabad terror camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) to groups to carry out terrorist attacks in India. He himself was indoctrinated by his handler Abu Tola to fight against India on religious grounds. In 2006 he came in contact with one Sajid of Lashkar-e-Taiba who provided him with logistic support to enter India via Katmandu, Nepal. Both he and Sajid first stayed in Delhi and later boarded a bus for Srinagar where they were received by two persons--Iqbal and Imran. In Srinagar a person called Pinto joined Iqbal and Imran. They sought Bhatt's help in eliminating Station House Officer, Pampur police station, Ashfaq. When he declined to help, they took away his Pakistani passport and tore into pieces, police sources informed. Bhatt who appears to be illiterate possesses some knowledge of Unani medicine. In 2007 he reached Hyderabad and started a clinic in Malakpet area by taking a flat on rent. Here he allegedly obtained a PAN card by furnishing fictitious address. A year later he shifted to Salala, Barkas and set up a 17-bed hospital--HIV Discover. In 2008 he was arrested by the Chandrayangutta police following a complaint by the hospital building owner Mohammed Ali who alleged that Bhatt was a quack. In Hyderabad he married a divorced woman and had two children with her. Sometime later he jumped bail and started working with a Unani doctor Nasiruddin Ghori at his dispensary in Mehdipatnam. Here he was booked by Humayun Nagar police in a case of trespassing. In 2011 he came in contact with one Mushtaq and opened a clinic-- Nova Dispensary--in Upparpally, Rajendranagar. Here he married another woman who had come to him for treatment. While in jail he came in contact with one Madood Ahmed Khan alias Mahadev who had allegedly cheated several persons by claiming to be the incarnation of Lord Shiva. After coming out on bail in March 2013 Bhatt and Mahadev were again arrested by Langer Hauz police for allegedly attacking cops. According to the sources, Bhatt's escape to Gujarat only highlighted the failure on part of the Hyderabad police for not identifying him as LeT member and a Pakistani national though he was arrested several times in the past for various offences |
