Gandhiguevara:earth close to sun aithe intha chali enduku vundhi ippudu...idanta bussu
Earth's distance from Sun does not decide the seasons (summer, winter) but the tilt axis Earth rotates on. When Earth is closest to Sun, earth rotates in such an angle that Northern hemisphere get least Sun light that too at an acute angle (shorter day) making it winter. And you can guess, Southern Hemisphere gets direct Sun light for longer periods of time, making it summer for them. |

Gandhiguevara:earth close to sun aithe
Due to the 23.4 degree tilt in the earth's axis, the northern hemisphere experiences winter and the southern hemisphere experiences summer at this time of the year. Earth is closest to sun ante, southern hemisphere attu-vudiki pothaavuntadi.. Australia lo elaa vuntaaro?? Just saw Neil deGrasse Tyson 's post on today being the astronomer's new year as the earth is at its perihelion - the nearest point to the sun in its orbit .. As to your doubt on seasons - this one has a good explanation http://earthsky.org/tonight/earth-comes-closest-to-sun-every -year-in-early-january#.Usgu8va9LCQ The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet : James Oppenheim |
