IMDB lo post: 10/8* years ago - Inspector Kang recruits Ja-sung - then a nervous lowly police officer - as an undercover cop (when they are in the police car) 6 years ago - Ja-sung and Jung are working as thugs on a low rung of the gang ladder. They fight with the guys in a cafe. Unknown to Jung, Ja-sung has already been working undercover for two years. 3 years ago - Inspector Kang recruits a girl from a bar. She's assigned to spy on Ja-sung in return for help with her drug-addict father. (No idea when they marry. Probably within the next two years.) 3 or 2 years ago - Five Korean crime families merge as Goldmoon, a huge corporation, with the first boss as its Chairman and the former (and now "powerless") boss becomes the Vice Chair (a.k.a. second heir). Present day - Ja-sung works as the right-hand man of Jung, who's now working as one of the first boss's "chosen sons". Jung works in Shanghai on the first boss' behalf. When the first boss is killed, Jung (third heir - he's Korean of Chinese ethnicity) and Joong-gu (fourth heir - he's Korean of Korean ethnicity) become two candidates as the successor to the Chairman role. *Ja-sung said "ten years" in his conversation with Kang, but he said 'eight years' in his later conversation with Kang. I think it's a continuity error, but let's assume it's between ten and eight years. |
