The goal here is to not blindly protect our diplomat if she did or did not do any wrong. We are protesting the way this issue is handled, meaning - strip search, handcuffing, picking her on the road, keeping her among other criminals. We dont do these for diplomats. Forgot about if she can execute immunity or not. Inka barricades antara - May there is no need for barricades in the first place. We gave them just out of courtesy as we treat them specially. With this behavior, may be they dont deserve this extra courtesy. | ||

I don't think it matters much in the big scheme of things. ikkada asalu point vachi aavida chesindi illegal aa kaada anedi. I think even Indian govt realized about her fraud but they are only contesting the "way" it is handled. probably US authorities did go overboard a little but visa fraud is not a petty crime and there is no diplomat immunity for such crime. | ||

Delhi police remove barricades outside US embassy New Delhi, Dec 17, 2013 (IANS) Delhi Police Tuesday removed barricades and allowed normal traffic movement outside and around the US embassy in the capital. The step was taken on a day India sought unconditional apology from the US over the arrest and the purported strip search of the ranking Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade in New York. The barricades outside the US embassy, located in Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave, were placed two years ago, after an alert of terror attacks on the embassy. The normal vehicular traffic was particularly barred from the slip roads in front of the embassy and the visa office at the back of the chancery. Two cranes were used to remove the cemented road blocks. Senior officers of Delhi Police were present during the operation which went for around half an hour.
