http://www.botany.hawaii.edu/faculty/wong/BOT135/Lect20a.htm Soma, in his now much cited âSoma, Divine Mushroom of Immortalityâ. Wasson believed Soma was the mushroom that was utilized in religious ceremonies, over 4000 years ago, before the beginning of our Christian era, by the people who called themselves âAryansâ. Wasson also believed the hallucinogenic properties of the A. muscaria to be the cause of the âecstasyâ described in the Rig Veda, the holy book of the Hindu. In order to appreciate the story behind the legend of Soma, and the reasoning that Wasson used in selecting it as the Soma of the Rig Veda, I will first describe the mushroom and its development. Ringo_rangaswamy: I always thought soma herb was rhetorical.
I doubt it was rhetorical - there are accounts of hallucinogens used across cultures for the 'divine' experiences The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet : James Oppenheim |

. Once PBS lo oka Britisher Soma herb kosam, goes to Pakistan, and finds it. One Herbal shop owner makes something like ginger juice for this guy. But the dried herb looked more like turmeric kommu. I always thought soma herb was rhetorical. Did not think there was a plant with medicinal vales as this article said. |

Ringo vesina origin of sanskrit link nunchi ee link dorikindi Evaraina tinnara ? http://aumstar.com/the-soma-mushroom-project/ The most important feature of the Soma mushroom is its ability to heal ALL diseases (including the AIDS virus). A single dose of two mushrooms is all that is needed to cure any disease and regenerate the person to a youthful state. DIVINITY OF SOMA There is complete agreement among all who have studied the Rig Veda, that it is not of human origin, but rather was revealed to the ancient Rishis by the sacred mushroom called Soma. The Soma plant is described throughout the Rig Veda, and is identified with the Goddess Herself. This divine plant contains and reveals the fifty sounds of Vedic Sanskrit, the Mother Language, and the entire contents of the Rig Veda are revealed to the person who consumes this divine mushroom. The Vedic Sanskrit language, and the contents of the Rig Veda, are encoded in the DNA of the Soma mushroom, and are downloaded to the person who eats (or drinks the juice of) the mushroom http://aumstar.com/the-big-bang-how-aum-created-the-cosmos/ The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet : James Oppenheim |
