Hitachi Solutions opens global R&Dâcentre in Hyderabad By B Krishna Mohan Hyderabad Dec 05 2013 Tags: News IT solutions company Hitachi is looking up to India and other Asian countries to expand, according to Masakazu Kuji, executive director of Hitachi Solutions. Kuji said it is now focussed on India and other markets in the Asia-Pacific region. It had a development centre in China but the market there was changing. The Chinese centre was working for its Japanese market. The company Thursday announced the setting up of its new global development centre (GDC) in Hyderabad. It would deliver CRM-based business solutions. The GDC will drive global intellectual property (IP) development needs of Hitachi Solutions even as it will cater customers in the US, Europe, Canada and Asia-Pacific. It has plans to increase it to 500 people here by 2015, said Mike Gillis, chief operating officer of Hitachi Solutions (business solutions group). According to Ananth Subramanian, CEO of Hitachi Solutions India Limited, it had started Microsoft Academic Alliance, an initiative in India to sustain its business here. It involves in-campus training of about 100 final year students. It is now working with two universities in Chennai and will extend this to Hyderabad soon, he said adding that availability of English speaking IT professionals, consistent market are key drivers. | ||

Brand Telangana gets off to a flying start with Oracle! December 6, 2013 As Telangana got cabinet approval for Statehood, Hyderabadâs image in the IT sector got a big boost on Wednesday with the IT giant Oracle announcing that its office in the city would become its biggest outside the United States. Oracle president Mark Vicent Hurd will soon be visiting the state to ink the details. IT minister C. Ponnala Lakshmaiah confirmed that the company had conveyed its decision after a series of deliberations. âThe IT giant will be expanding its office here as their biggest facility outside of the United States. They have deliberated and decided and the president of the company will soon be visiting Hyderabad,â said the minister. Other big IT companies who have announced their expansion plans in Hyderabad include Amazon, TCS and Infosys. There are about 1,268 IT companies registered in the state, of which almost 90 per cent have a substantial amount of business in the US. Andhra Pradesh is home to US-based IT giants like Microsoft, Google, Facebook, IBM, Dell and Motorola, apart from Oracle, and domestic majors like TCS, Wipro and Infosys. The IT sector had been shaken by the unrest in the city over the last couple of years over the Telangana issue, but that seems to be passing with the statehood row moving towards resolution. Industry bodies had maintained that they want a peaceful working atmosphere and were not interested in local issues. Despite the troubles, the IT sector had not stopped growing though there was a slowdown over the last couple of years. |
