Being alone at home, i thought of opening a 6 year unopened wine bottle that i got as a complement in a hotel..as i don't drink, the wine was aging rather well in my house... Lo and behold, i did not have a wine opener...what to do..i tried prising the cork over with a knife, screwdriver, spoon, fork...i got some tiny bits of cork out but the cork was not budging.. i got my Eureka moment and decided to push the cork in...after a few minutes of struggling i pushed the cork in with a burst of wine out of the bottle upon the kitchen walls and utensils... Okay, now i have a bottle with a floating cork and many tiny bits of cork matter and particulates in the wine....so i got out my sieve and separated the chaff from the wine and there we are...the holy grail of wine... Of course i could not even finish a glass and i had to pour out the rest in the sink...great Saturday night mandhu party... |
