4K TVs are in the first year of inception, so have to pay premium.
Wait for an year or two for the prices to come down.
You will notice the difference (compared to 1080p), if the display is 70"+ and sit closure. For smaller display size or sit farther from display, you can't get benefits of 4K TV.
Finally, there is not enough 4K content to consume other than documentaries.

Bottomline, wait couple of years for the 4K TVs to mature, get more content and consumer-range prices.

dont waste money on high end TVs unless you are getting cable/dish HD channels. it is not worth to spend extra money when the input to the TVs is of low quality, it does not make any difference to the viewing.
