Sachin captured imagination of cricket fans with his attacking batting in odi all over the world.. Gangu, dravid time ki he was all sett and a darling.. He is obviously one notch above the rest of fab 4 because of his batting in both formats.. That he prolonged his career taking rest whenever he wanted etc is what drove lot of people nuts.. Now he is gone.. End of story.. Gangu did hang on for a while, though he did well post Chappell he is out of date commodity.. Shame that a leader who turned around the psyche of Indian cricket did not get proper send off or adulation.. Rahul as usual like his batting chaps kinda neeru laga get on ayipoyad.. Sachin assured that team will perform well and till the finals, Sachin was magnificent. Who will forgot that siva tandavam against Pakis. 98 runs. Where Sachin let down people like me is a game like WC final. Be it 2003 or 2011 or natwest finals. We expect sachin to perform on those kind of stages. | ||

Gangly Dravidian lachi if they came in different times they would have become legends in their own right (not that they are not now.. But a that little extra that he has and mumbai media machine ensured these guys will remain in the back ground) If gang was there alone.. With other talented people and similar kinda success he would be rated like tiger pataudi (again he is dada is the best captain ever till msd came.. All other captains were clerks who got promoted to head clerk).. The sad part of these 3 is they came together with srt in a time they propelled Indian cricket forward.. So have to share the honors.. But again that's bright thing too that these 4 came together with kumble | ||

Don't forget that India won the highest number of matches under Ganguly's Captaincy. People still remember it and applaud Ganguly. If not for Sachin's personal 100's and 50's , India could have won lot of matches in the past. | ||

To start with, Ganguly is much less talented than Sachin in terms of variety of shots. Still very talented and Sachin has his flaws too. He is controversial off the field (Nagma,Chappel etc). His public image is fxxed up. He is known for creating rifts in the team by 'encouraging' specific team members. Everyone does that, but he does it in a way that creates rifts. We can say Sachin and Ganguly are contempories. Look at their last 5 years of thier careers. Sachin scored more 100's or runs than him. His IPL career is a mess. Not even Kolkatta picked him and he was pushed around and god knows where he is now. Ganguly was a better leader - fearless and showed the new dimension of the team. He will be remember for that. But personally for me, that is not enough to put him not even close to Sachin's legacy because he never won any major tournament like WC or a bunch of other global tournaments. I am sure Dhoni will be much more remembered as a better leader than Ganguly because of his championships. Even if Ganguly was given a farewell like Sachin, he wouldnt have got the same accolades from everyone (from within India as well as from global players) - You need have a complete package of a 'personality' to deserve such a farewell. BOTTOMLINE GANGULY HE DOESNT DESERVE A FITTING FAREWELL ESPECIALLY IF PEOPLE LIKE DRAVID, LAXMAN ETC WERE TREATED THE SAME WAY. | ||
