If you have a choice always go for "no load" funds. Data doesn't suggest that funds which charge higher fee perfom better.

Based on your risk appetite spread your money across various funds types. Include some Small Cap(High risk high return), Large Cap(Consisting of blue chip companies), some Global funds(investing in international securities) and finally have fund consisting of bonds(low risk low return). Ila diversify chesi cruise control lo pedithe in the long run you wont regret.

My 2 cents

//with MFs you don't buy all at once.. we invest a base amount every month (must).. so we are dollar cost averaging.. so if the fund goes down / up doesn't matter and there is a minium lock in period.. this gives the MF manager a level of cushion as time is in favor of them.//
