Ignored & humiliated by the BCCI and the Cricket Association of Bengal, Akash Lal, one of the two surviving selectors who had selected Sachin Tendulkar for his inaugural tour to Pakistan in 1989, slammed the BCCI for ignoring his role by not giving him a ticket to Eden Gardens for Sachin Tendulkar's penultimate Test.

"I am sad, upset, disturbed and felt insulted. Is this the way to treat someone who had played a crucial role in shaping Sachin's cricket career? BCCI & CAB have forgotten me completely. I hope they haven't forgotten Gundappa Vishawanth (the other surviving member of the selection committee)," Akash Lal, a former Ranji player & commentator, told Headlines Today in an exclusive interview today.

"I think the BCCI knows more about cement than cricket. BCCI officials are either builders, politicians or advocates. They have nothing to do with cricket. I had asked CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya 4 days back if they could in a good gesture provide the two surviving members tickets for Sachin's last two matches. Dalmiya ignored me and said call me in 3 days, we will see if we have anything left. Now even if they decide to give me tickets for Eden or Wankhede, I will think twice whether to go or not," Akash Lal added
