http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Seemandhra-sans-Hyd erabad-not-viable-Anam-report-says/articleshow/24619364.cms Finance department officials collated the revenue data from 2008-09 and found that over 75% to 80% of the tax collected in the form of value added tax (VAT), excise, motor vehicle tax, stamps and registration duty, entertainment tax and other sources comes from Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. Statistics show that of the Rs 69,146 crore revenue that accrued to the state exchequer for the year 2012-13, Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy alone accounted Rs 48,400 crore. Outside Hyderabad, the revenue from the Andhra region was Rs 10,729 crore, Rs 3,809 crore from Rayalaseema and Rs 6,206 crore from the Telangana region. The note, prepared under the guidance of the finance minister with the backing of the chief minister was given the final touches on Wednesday by finance department officials. The note is likely to be forwarded to the Group of Ministers through the chief secretary by Thursday. |
