Kashtam...risk ekkuva...because you can't hide a TV unlike say gold or some electronics...and it is very risky for a known customs officer to clear it...there is no discretion at all for the customs officer, it is not like he can say that the TV is below 35000 etc as the rupee value is irrelevant. this is a blanket tax.

Haayiga vellu...Dubai visa kavali if the layover is more than 4 hours, adhi chala easy, kallu moosukoni isthadu...ee madya nenu US nunchi return appudu kavali ani ila book chesa as i had to buy a TV in Dubai. I had only 4 hours break but as i had to exit immigration,i took a visa.

No second thoughts, guddeyi...$1000 a majaka...

first of all, you need visa for Dubai.
on your return trip, at port of entry in usa, the customs officer may ask you
"why did you visit Dubai? what did you do there? evarini kalisinav, endhuku vellaav?"

Dubai lo visa on arrival untundi if layover is more than 7hrs. I did this 4 years back but check it online or call Emirates office.

maku sure that you won't face visa issues and luggage auto transfer undadu,bayataku poyi belt meeda teesukuni malli check in cheyali anukunta, you need a visa for that
