Harish Shankar+NTR combo post GS raised expectations to sky high. Lets see if both of them justified their respective roles: 1st Half - Absolute treat for fans. The NTR we always wished for is here & in wat style. He brings in a refreshing ease, attitude, mannerism and timing in his most stylish avatar yet. Best youthful characterization for him to date. Neutral class audiences also shall jst lap him up. As Jeevi said all it takes is the right director for NTR. Chimpi avatalesadu. Harish Shankar kept the pacing good & light all the while. Interval block is solid with an interesting twist. Interval Report - 4 for fans & 3.5 for neutrals. Fans r thanking Harish @ this point & cant stop raving abt NTR. 2nd Half - Interesting start to 2nd half as a crime drama. Then starts 2nd half which also starts well. Felt a few similarities to Gajini. Love track is rushed. Villian looks menacing enough. And then the movie turns into a personalized revenge drama. At this point u start feeling, "dont screw it up Harish". Good fight block in between wit t right dialogues. Temple scene which is supposed to be highlight is ok. Pre climax song n climax feel cliched. 2nd Half Report - 3 for normal audience & 3.25 to 3.50 for fans. Final Rating - 3 to 3.25 for normal audience & 3.50 for Fans. While fans can thank Harish for 1st Half & a new NTR, they have every right to kill him for squandering a Blockbuster opportunity in the 2nd Half. 2nd Half is not bad, it is just plain jaded routine as much as the 1st Half was fresh. The feel good graph which is high in the 1st Half comes down in the 2nd to normal. Wat cud hav easily been a Blockbuster ends up as a Hit. P.S. Sivaparvathy Benefit Show along wit a north Indian friend who rated it 3.25 at the end and said NTR rocked. |
