http://www.theunrealtimes.com/2013/10/07/delhi-unit-of-bjp-d eclares-none-of-the-above-as-its-cm-candidate/ Delhi unit of BJP declares âNone Of The Aboveâ as its CM candidate With the Supreme Court directing the Election Commission to provide None Of The Above (NOTA) as an option on EVMs and ballot papers in forthcoming elections, the Delhi BJP has gone ahead and declared NOTA as its CM candidate for the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls. The Delhi unit, beset by factionalism, has been unable to decide on its CM candidate and therefore NOTA is the best bet under the circumstances. âThe entire party cadre in Delhi is in approval of fighting the elections under NOTAji since they feel all other candidates are crap. They feel only he/she/it will be able to lead the party to a resounding triumph at the hustings,â said BJP MLA, Vijay Jolly, one of the first to endorse NOTA. The BJP also hopes to blunt AAPâs anti-anti-incumbency wave by convincing people that NOTA is a better option than the jhaadu by running a highly cynical campaign to convince people that everyone is bad. âKejriwal ji has been targeting BJP leaders, saying they are as corrupt as Congress leaders. Weâll hit back by convincing people that heâs as bad as the rest and urge them to vote for NOTAji,â thundered Vijayendra Malhotra, another frustrated BJP leader, who genuinely feels everyone is fraud. If NOTA ends up polling the largest number of votes, BJP leaders hope that a re-poll is ordered. âThat way we can get into an infinite loop of re-polling which suits us just fine,â chimed Vijay Jolly. In related news, Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit wished AAP leader, Arvind Kejriwal, all the best but not too much and not too little. âWe want him to put up a good show and split the anti-incumbency vote but not so much that he completely decimates the BJP and by extension the Congress too,â she said. When asked how she feels about Kejriwal, she said, âItâs complicated.â |
