Director Trivikram and actor Sunil are childhood buddies. They lived together as roommates in Hyderabad in their struggling period. When he became a successful writer, Trivikram started penning special characters for his friend Sunil that helped the comedian establish in the industry. Trivikram became director with Nuvve Nuvve and went to make films like A thadu, Jalsa, Khaleja, Julayi and Atharintiki Daaredhi. Except in Julayi and Atharintiki Daaredhi, Sunil acted in all his directorial ventures. Sunil wanted to know why his friend stopped giving him roles in his movies. To this, Trivikram replied: "Today he is in good position. He is a star. After the super success of Maryada Ramanna and Poolarangadu as lead actor, it would not be fair on my part to bring him down to play comedian roles.
