Finally cud make it to wat is possibly the awaited movie of the year (owing to u know wat). Admist all the hype, wanted to check out if it was worth the 4's and enjoyable. First fight seemed like a sad joke. Ripped off from Vishwaroopam where it looked justified and looked anything but tht here. First taste wasn't encouraging. Senti scene with Granpa longing for his long lost daughter looked routine but felt good. Intro scenes in India worked well. Episodes wit Praneeta smhw had a better feel than those wit Samantha. Club song was absolutely wasted. Jaaga bokka episode. Confrontation wit Posani was Gud, but similar to Athadu Polam scene wit Bharani but not to tht effect. Ali was not utilized properly. Interval bang was interesting posing sm kind of challenge to the Hero. 2nd half the script jst goes haywire. It was only a few scenes and Pawan who pulled it off. Samantha's character sounded interesting only as long as she lost her mind. Mindless logics follow y she is engaged on the spot to sm fellow. Brahmi's introduction was hilarious. Baba's episode had a lot of potential but got watered down. Tree episode never worked. Ahalya episode was good, but the 4th act was unnecessary. Wat followed was t best part of t entire movie. Katam Rayudu song. It jst elevated the scene to another level. The theatre which was in general silent jst celebrated. Only Pawan cud hav done tht. Rest is as it is till the climax episode where the sentiment worked well though the same logic was already shown in Simhadri. Pawan did a great job in the climax which is the only reason why it did not feel dated. The PK we all love is in full flow here and this is the primary reason for the movie to work along with a few good scenes. Story was otherwise routine with lots of unnecessary and illogical scenes. Few WTF moments: 1. Fights - Range frm ridiculous to ok as there is no justification for the super powers on show. 2. Chamchas - Really irritating episodes. Every scene with them, Hero keeps slapping them for unknown reasons which came to a level where no one was enjoying them. Jst didn't feel right. 3. Money - It's thrown around worse than pamphlets. 1 lakh crores has become a joke nowadays and too much display of money where everything n everyone is bought. 4. Why - The typical lady action by Pawan seemed a bit overdone. Final Word - Sometimes the sum of parts adds up to more than the total. This is on display here. Pawan and a few good scenes of comedy & sentiment have made the movie a much better one than it should hav been. Was it worth 4? Really? No way. 3.25 to 3.50 shud hav been the range. Enjoyable? Absolutely. Had a jolly good time despite all of the above. Sm guys r born to entertain & Pawan is one of them. Full credit to him. Trvik has used some of the best parts of Pawans previous movies and a few of his own and made this mixture. While he entertains on the whole, it's not to his standard. His Athadu remains the benchmark. |
