Hotel and restaurant associations convention will be inaugurated by K.Chiranjeevi The Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), representing over 3,800 members, will hold its 48th annual convention here Thursday. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism K. Chiranjeevi will inaugurate the convention based on "Sustainable and Responsible Tourism", being held for the first time in Kerala. A large number of representatives from the hospitality and tourism industry are expected to attend. Aiming to add 180,000 guest rooms in next five years to the existing 120,000, the tourism ministry plans to increase foreign tourist arrivals from 6.5 million to 12 million by 2017. Tourism is the largest employment generator in the country, accounting for 9.2 percent of total workforce. The sector employs 53 million at present and this would rise to 87 million by 2017. A highlight would be the Hospitality Expo showcasing products and services of importance to the industry and a unique Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Pavilion in which exhibitors from across India will participate. The four associations, representing the eastern, northern, western and southern regions of India, sponsored FHRAI that Rai Bahadur Mohan Singh Oberoi (the father of Indian hotel industry) established in 1955. Boss Movie Plot.... Akshay Kumar will play a kind hearted Haryanavi gangster, apparently known as Boss and Mithun Chakraborty will enact the role of his father. Shiv Pandit will portray Akshay Kumar's younger brother's role in the film and Aditi Rao Hydari is paired opposite him. Danny Denzongpa will play Boss's mentor and Ronit Roy will play a ruthless police officer who is pitted against Boss. The film's trailer which was released on 27 August got tremendous response from audience and critics alike. It crossed 3 million views in just 10 days.[5] Ronit Roy, who plays the role of a police officer up against the titular character, Boss marking the first instance where he is the antagonist of a film. It is also the second consecutive instance where his role is that of a cop with Shootout at Wadala being the last one where he portrayed the role of Inspector Raja Ambat, based on real life encounter specialist, Raja Tambat.[6][7][8][9] Ronit along with Akshay Kumar have an action sequence at the climax of the film, one of the highlights of the film which were shot in temperatures exceeding 47 degree Celsius in Thailand involving high octane stunts that were carried out in the end successfully by both the actors.[4] Ramzan mein 'Ram' Hote hai.... Tourist facility centres inaugurated at Ajanta, Ellora by chiranjeevi AURANGABAD: Twin tourist facility centres at Aurangabad's Unesco World Heritage Sites , Ajanta and Ellora, were inaugurated by union tourism minister K Chiranjeevi,Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan and Chhagan Bhujbal, minisnter for public works and tourism, government of Maharashtra on Monday. The Rs 125-crore tourist centres have been built as a part of the Rs 300-crore second phase of the Ajanta Ellora Conservation and Tourism Development Project ( AEDP), funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). With replicas of four exquisitely painted caves at Ajanta, the 2nd century BC world heritage site of 300 Buiddhist caves and a replica of the 750AD Kailash temple at Ellora , the world's largest single monolithic excavation, these centres are an attempt to relive the fascinating history of the twin heritage sites. "Special attention needs to be paid to the safety of women at heritage sites. Cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene are our other major concerns. It is crucial to develop infrastructure for better connectivity to tourism sites," Chiranjeevi said at a press conference called at Aurangabad following the inauguration of the centres. The union minister stated that the twin heritage sites, Ajanta and Ellora, have been adopted by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC). "Apart from these two, the Taj Mahal, Golkonda, Mahabalipuram, the Red Fort and the Elephanta caves have also been adopted by the ONGC," Chiranjeevi said. "Rs 80 crore has been sanctioned by the tourism ministry for developing 11 projects in 2013. In Maharashtra, the tourism focus will be on Bhandara, Gondia, Amravati, Pune, Mumbai, Panshet, Satara, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Thane. In 2013, two other tourism mega-circuits will be developed; including rural tourism," the minister said. "In 2013-'14, Rs 13 crore has been sanctioned to develop grapevine tourism and ecotourism," Chiranjeevi added. "More private companies should come forward to adopt monuments," Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan said, reiterating ONGC's role in preserving heritage sites. The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has spent Rs 73 crore on the visitors' centre at Ajanta , while the Ellora visitors' centre has been built at an expense of Rs 38 crore. Both the centres have been designed on the lines of international interpretation centres, to provide extensive information on these heritage sites through audiovisual media. In addition, the centres have amphitheatres, spaces for exhibitions and events, retail shops, restaurants and other amenities. The Ajanta visitors' centre spreads across an area of 3,23,695 sq m. It houses five museum halls with actual-sized replicas of four of the caves and a sprawling parking space that can accommodate 280 cars, 20 buses and 200 two-wheelers. The centre also houses three restaurants, an independent restaurant for students, an auditorium and an amphitheatre to serve as recreation centres. The Ellora centre spreads across 2,10,000 sqm, with three museums, a 1/10th replica of the Kailash temple and a parking space that can accommodate 142 cars, 41 buses and 199 two-wheelers. This centre also offers three restaurants, an auditorium and an amphitheatre. Both the centres will offer audiovisual presentations on Buddhism, an introduction to Ajanta, the significance of world heritage sites, murals, the Jataka tales and games to facilitate e-learning. from 16th September -------------------- There are over 1.72 million infant and 56,000 maternal deaths registered in India every year and a three-pronged approach needs to be adopted to tackle the crisis, Union Tourism Minister K Chiranjeevi said. "The problem can be tackled through crisis management, timely care and cure through early diagnosis," he said. Besides, there is a massive shortage of doctors and paramedical staff which is affecting the general well-being of the country, he said while inaugurating a three-day international conference on 'Recent Advances in Obstetrics and Gynaecology' here on Saturday. Dr. C. N. Purandare, president-elect of FIGO (International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics) said a 'Maternal Death Review' had been prepared in association with the FOGSI (Federation of Obstetric Gynaecological Societies of India) to help prevent the maternal and infant mortality. "The review will be released by the end of this month," he added. For instance, most maternal and infant deaths are attributed to poor transportation in Rajasthan. Such issues can be plugged and 90 per cent of deaths prevented according to Purandare. The agenda of the conference was build data on recent advancements in obstetrics and gynaecology and making it available to the needy, FOGSI vice-president Dr S. Shantha Kumari said. Meanwhile, the Centre is lobbying and extending help to FOGSI in bidding for global FIGO conference which is expected to be held in India in 2021, Dr. Shantha Kumari said."It will be a prestigious event. It's a long time to go but we have to start trying now," she said. Mr. Chiranjeevi also announced that his ministry would go all out to support the bidding. "We are trying our best to promote India as a global destination for health tourism. It will go a long way in attracting global attention in the segment," he said. Source : THE HINDU Chiranjeevi is my God! Jai Chiranjeeva! |
