First Things First.... Raj Kumar Santhoshi, This guy Made The cult classic Called 'Andaz Apna Apna' then he took a break of 30 years then made another comedy Called 'Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani' with Ranbir and Katrina.... But the what we have to noticed after watching Ajab Gajab was this guy is still struck in the age of Andaz Apna Apna he repeated the same Dramatic Comedy Formula with a 90's Kinda story in 'Ajab Gajab' and guess what.... People actually liked the film n it became one of the biggest grossers in Ranbir's Career, Which makes one thing clear even though THis Raj Kumar santhoshi Brings Beaten to Death formula on screen but still he maintains a Touch of freshness in his comedy which connects with the audience.... And the Same thing is happening with 'Phata Poster Nikla Hero'.... The story is so ridiculous and the taking is full on 80's drama type this movie still has its best moments, One of them being Salman Kha's Special Appearence (That scene was hilarious indeed). But as soon as u say ok this is going gud n intermission happens in a ridiculously dramatic manner. Then Starts struggle raj kumar santhoshi comes out of his comfort zone of COmedy and starts making us bore with pathetic so called sentiment scenes and drama, the complete second half is full on boring masala (Except few laughs here and there) and the Only one who shines in this boring second half is Shahid Kapoor (you will see him in form after Jab we met and Kaminey).... But if u go to Raj kumar santhoshi movies n except Sensible cinema, Logical cinema, serious cinema then its ur mistake not his cause he was always making fun films, this film is also a fun film except the second half of the movie.... First half Shahid Songs Comedy in first half Are the only plus points in the movie (Just like Ajab Gajab if u like ajab gajab u will probably like this one too) 2.5/5 Ramzan mein 'Ram' Hote hai.... Aur Diwali mein 'Ali'.... |
