Guys, Please have a complete body check up done, if you have not already in the past six months. Over the weekend, one of my buddies had a heart attack, and was fortunate that we went to Emergency in right time and he is doing fine now. Aged 34, a pretty active guy, vegetarian diet, smokes occasionally and you can never tell anything would be wrong with him. One of the right arteries had a 100% block and had chest pains around 10 PM on friday. Initially thought some sort of chest spasm from playing volleyball earlier that evening. I was on call with him and he mentioned passingly that there is persistent pain near the chest, and he was going to take some pain medication and go to bed. I insisted on going to the emergency, and the ER EKG was fine, but the later troponin tests confirmed that there was some sort of heart stress. the next day he went through cardiac catherization and had stent put in!!
