I never track my investments this way on an individual stock basis, i only look at a portfolio...on individual stocks i think the highest was REI Agro - 10 times in one year....in the hey days of the boom..., but all of them are silly investments and stupid money...ila 5 times ayina stocks enno unnayi, but all of them are stocks i would not recommend unless an individual is okay to those risks..as i said, on public forums i never recommend risky stocks - best to go with HDFCs, L&Ts, M&Ms of the world.
Correct bro, nothing fundamentally has changed over the past 2 weeks, there is some sense of optimism that the rupee will stabilise but the news has only gotten worse with the land bill, the horrible GDP numbers etc. The problem with the index in India is that it is not representative of the broader market, the CNX Mid-cap has fallen by 20% as of today even after the rise over the last 4 days. However the Nifty is flat, hence some of these fund managers say that the market from an average investor point of view (who does not hold just Nifty stocks) is much lower than the level right now. As far as banking stocks are concerned, the RBI has removed some restrictions on opening new branches, foreign holdings etc. but again the bank stocks are going to see more blood because of the bad loans, the valuations which are quite stretched (even a Rakesh Jhunjhunwala says he would not touch private banks stocks) | ||

Just because the stock market went up on 2 days does not mean the market is on the right track. and just because we write so much on the stock market does not mean we do not analyse businesses.they are not mutually exclusive..first of all this level of volatility is crazy unless someone wants to play in the options market...it does not indicate a market that has depth or breadth, one week down 2000 points and another week up 2000 points....i never give individual stock picks, even if i do invest, people should develop their own comfort levels and analyse each company... | ||
